Cold Chain temperature monitoring systems for critical raw materials within chilled distribution centers

There is increasing regulatory and customer focus on controlled temperature for food products by national regulatory bodies throughout the cold chain. Temperature management for critical raw materials within distribution centers is essential as the first part of the "end-to-end" supply chain temperature control process.
Our wide range of temperature monitoring data loggers and radio transmitters are used for cold chain temperature monitoring within distribution centre cold rooms before the goods are packed for transportation. This is to ensure quality and integrity are not compromised during various handling.
Our 4001 and RFBug (RF401) offer exceptional accuracy and reliability, resolution 0.1C and +/- 0.1C accuracy. The 4000T series of transmitters have a superior radio performance and are ideally suited to large and complex buildings. Where high accuracy is not required and/or shorter radio range is acceptable such as for use in smaller buildings, our IceSpy System5 would be ideal with a temperature resolution of 0.1C and an accuracy of +/- 0.5C. Both solutions have the ability to display mean kinetic temperature (MKT).

Generate immediate alarms for equipment in need of stable environments within the cold chain

Cold chain distribution centers need to maintain a strict level of control in order to guarantee a safe and stable environment for ingredients. Temperatures are monitored for regulatory compliance and a secondary function is the generation of alarms which will eventually alert the user of an open door condition. If a faster indication of door open is required then the use of wireless door sensors are a good solution. The use of door alarms have the benefit over temperature generated alarms of providing a much faster response. The longer a door is left open the more energy is required.
The IceSpy Door Sensors can be used either on smaller fridges or larger cold room doors. Alternatively refrigerated areas can be monitored with combined door and temperature alarms using the AlarmWatch series with SMS alerts.

Our temperature and humidity sensor range monitors humidity throughout the cold chain

It is an expectation of national regulatory bodies to monitor environmental conditions where perishables are distributed. Unacceptable conditions can have detrimental effects on food quality, visual appearance, yield and shelf-life. Although in many warehouse applications temperature is the most common parameter measured, in situations where bulk powders (like flour) are stored, relative humidity is equally as important. In some cases, humidity is critical due to the potential dangers if exposed to poor conditions.
Our temperature and humidity sensor range assist in preventing damaging effects on product quality by monitoring humidity throughout the cold chain. Hanwell's 4000RHT series or IceSpy System5 radio transmitters provide reliable information on temperature and humidity levels whilst eliminating possible human error which could result in a non-compliance. The use of wireless monitoring avoids much of the installation cost and disruption that can occur with hardwired systems.

Detect potential impact damage of produce throughout the cold chain

Perishable foodstuffs such as fruit are often bruised easily during transit and require careful packaging. Packaging processes can also include ways to monitor impacts and potential damages that might appear hours after the delivery is made assisting customers in determining potential spoilage before acceptance of deliveries. Our range of cost-effective, self-adhesive indicators affix directly to packaging for immediate and clearly visible notification of potential damage caused by impact or tilt. These state that they are a monitored shipment and change a handler's behaviour, something that 'fragile' labels have stopped achieving.

Impact indicators come in a variety of different g-force levels from 25-100g depending on the shipment sensitivity.
